THE FORMATION OF THE EQUESTRIAN MONUMENT AS AN INDEPENDENT GENRE OF SCULPTURE IN THE RENAISSANCE

The article discusses the development of the art of sculpture in the Renaissance, and also examines the role of the condottiere image in restoring the tradition of such a sculptural genre as the equestrian monument. A comparative analysis of equestrian monuments by Italian sculptors has been carried out.
